As R&D Vice President Innovation for GSK Consumer Healthcare, Marks integrates consumer insights with superior, science-based research. His many transformative ideas have drivengrowth across key GSK business areas andimprovedconsumer experience, as demonstrated by a 90% increase in product acceptability vs. the competition.

Following GSK Consumer Healthcare’sformation in 2015 (in joint venture with Novartis), Marks established an Emerging Science group thatdrove $500M in new pipeline value, enabling a major strategic shift in GSK’s where-to-play-areas. Marks also led expansion of the innovation pipeline to include a 25% increase in original healthcare solutions, identified through strategic development of digital capabilities and infrastructure.

Previously, Marks was R&D Vice President, New Growth and Research for Novartis Consumer Health. In this role, he built the R&D Integrated Research Department that identified innovative and competitive concepts, driving strategic growth aspirations of Novartis OTC.Marks joined Novartis in 2001 as a Senior Clinical Research Scientist for the Pharma Division, and held roles of increasing responsibility across multiple departments for more than a decade. In 2007, he was appointed Executive Director of Operations and Project Management for the Established Medicines Franchise.

Before joining Novartis, Marks was a Senior Scientist for Oncology, Hoffman-La Roche and a Clinical Science Specialist for Infectious Diseases, Roche Laboratories. He holds an MBA from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh.
